SAT/ACT Preparation
Many students prepare for the SAT or ACT as part of the university application process to strengthen their applications and qualify for merit-based scholarships. I work with students preparing for both exams, helping them strengthen the reading, writing, and mathematical reasoning these tests assess. Students also learn effective strategies for problem-solving, pacing, and navigating each section of the exam.
Preparation often becomes part of a broader effort to strengthen study habits and academic skills that continue to support students in their coursework beyond the exam itself.
What Preparation Includes
- Question bank access with practice exercises at all levels of difficulty (easy, medium, hard)
- Full-length practice tests with detailed score reports, allowing us to analyze performance patterns, identify areas for improvement, and track progress over time
- Guidance on how to maximize the built-in Desmos calculator (SAT)
- Targeted practice through question banks organized by skill category, helping students focus on specific areas while continuing to refine areas of strength
- Detailed performance analysis, including pacing and time spent per question, so preparation remains focused and efficient
- Guided approaches to each section of the exams, including reading, writing, mathematics, and science reasoning (Note: the science section is optional on the ACT only)
- Regular updates for parents, keeping families informed about progress, areas of growth, and recommended next steps
